There are some signs of having love for our Prophet Sallallâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam. A person who likes or loves something will show the signs of that love. Otherwise, that person is not genuine or sincere in his claim of love.
Some of the signs of having love for Rasulullah Sallallâhu Alayhi wa Sallam is shared below:
Following his Sunnah, facilitating those who act upon his Sunnah, defending his Sunnah, adhering to all his acts and words, fulfilling what he enjoins and refraining from what he forbids. It is in short, acting upon the manners he Sallallâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam recommended for us at times of ease and hardship, both in happy and sad moments.
Safwan bin Qudama Radhiyallâhu Anhu narrated:
"When I migrated with my two sons to Madinah al-Munawwarah, I went straight to the presence of Rasulullah Sallallâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam to make bay’ah (swear allegiance) and said. “O Rasulullah! Stretch your hand so that I can make Bay’ah to you.” He stretched his hand, and I took made Bay’ah saying, “O Rasulallah! I love you so much!” Then he said, “The person is with whom he loves.”
